Spangler and Boyer install Daikin VRV3 at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in York, PA

The church was looking for energy efficient options to upgrade the education buildings old heating and cooling. (formerly heated by a one million btu gas fired boiler and cooled by two 20 ton York split air conditioners) The zoning of the systems was undesirable and the space temperature was very inconsistent because of it. 

The entire second floor had to be heated or cooled in order to keep the kids conditioned in the preschool.  After many contractors bid the design build retrofit project the church decide the Daikin unit offered by Spangler & Boyer was the best solution and offered the best payback for their investment. 

Spangler& Boyer "zoned" the eight multi use second floor rooms with individual Daikin wall mounted air handlers and connected them to one Daikin VRV3 outdoor unit isolating the second floor from the first floor. 

The first floor classrooms (used as a preschool 9 months of the year) were individually "zoned" as well but ducted Daikin medium static air handlers connected to a seperate VRV3 outdoor unit.

Fresh air for the rooms is supplied through a Greenheck ERV system treating the incoming air.

The church board was very enthusiastic about the project and amazed by the new technology. As a bonus gained an extra room with the old boiler removed in the lower level and turned it into a much needed larger janitorial closet.

Jam Industrial control solutions was brought in to power the equipment and install deduct meters for the building so the board could keep track of the energy usage. Board members from Eastminster calculated the energy savings from this option would allow them to have about a six year payback in the $130,000 project over their old outdated systems.
